Also, Musa Maimon, a Jewish doctor and philosopher, spent a few years in which he practiced teaching at the University of Al-Karaouine.
Expansions and additions continued to the mosque of Al-Karaouine too, until it comprised 272 masts and accommodated 212 single worshipers, comprised 16 tiles each with 21 arches and embraced 840 worshipers. Figures and others can only be achieved in this mosque, which includes 130 chandeliers for lighting and a large chandelier with a diameter of 2.25 meters and has 520 lamps, while it currently accommodates more than 13440 prayers as the largest and most important mosque in the heart of the history of ancient Fez.
